Jeff Taylor – 2012-13 Totally Certified – Blue – 001/299

Okay, so. I paid $10 for this card. I could easily have gotten it for less. But. And here’s the thing; I have no card that is 001/###!

Silly. Of course. But. I like collecting, and try new things.

If I haven’t tried it before, I have to try it.

You’ll learn about this in due time.

But, for now. Here you go. The Blue Certified card with Jeff Taylor.

Jeff Taylor – 2012-13 Ultimate Leaf – Bronze

Very nice card. And of course, as all Leaf products, part of a potential “rainbow”.

Sometimes, in my head, I refer to Panini & Leaf as “Pokemon”.

Why?

You gotta catcha ’em all!

Sorry about that. But. You can’t have the Bronze version, and not also the silver and gold. Come on, what kind of a collector do you think I am?

Jeff Taylor – 2012/13 Panini Prizm – Rookie Autograph

It happens that I bid on the same card twice, mostly because the starting bid is $0,99, and I sometimes in the heat of the moment bid on stuff I think I haven’t won.

These two were won on the same day.

Those who might read this blog will soon come to understand that my “Holy Grail” of all sets ever created was the 1993-94 Topps Finest. For me, that is the collect, most well designed, most “holy shit this is a cool looking card” set ever made.

Now when Panini has woken up whatever designer and created the Prizm and then the Select-series, they’ve also made me more interested in their products.

Not that I wasn’t interested before, but now they have my attention!

Jeff Taylor in Panini Brilliance

Taylor is in the Panini Brilliance product due May 22nd, 2013. It’s the Brilliant Beginnings RC Autograph set – #31. It doesn’t seem to be a serial number attached, so it will probably be a low price on the card.

From what I can see, it’s a glossy finish with some silvery base. From what I can see there are sticker autographs, and some basic jersey cards – no high-end patches or swatches.

Taylor & Jerebko to play European Championship

Happy news yesterday when Jerebko signed up to play the European Championship this September.
Taylor already said “Yes” a month ago, so most of the Swedish basketball enthusiasts have been waiting for Jerebko to do the same.
The EC will be a great start-up before NBA season 2013/14.

Article: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeffery Taylor: Grading Both of the Bobcats’ Rookies

Bleacher Report had this to say about Jeff Taylor:

“I may be biased, but I’d say that Taylor had the best rookie season of the three, and has the most potential for the future in the NBA. A major positive is the fact that he is 6’7″, and his natural position is small forward, but the Bobcats slotted him into the shooting guard position, where he did fairly well. His size at that position—along with his versatility on the wing—give Taylor a positive outlook for the future.”

“He’s very gifted, intelligent and athletic, All of the tools are there, and as a second-rounder, he made a good impact on the team in his first year. His offseason focus needs to be on gaining confidence so he can comfortably take more shots, get in the paint and rebound more effectively.”

Grade: B

2012-13 Panini Past & Present Basketball

2012-13PaniniPastPresentBK

Panini released the second year of their Past & Present series. And a bit earlier than what i’d expected. Somewhere in the back of my head I thought it was due next week. But, I guess not.

The design resemble last years: a retro wibe, mat finish, and a low-mid end product. You got some autos and some rookies. Classic Panini to say the least.

The Elusive Ink series returns – this year with some interesting names;

  •  Jim Jackson – will be bought to my collection. He’s been in a lot of Upper Deck series lately, but he’d appeared in both the Preferred and now the Past & Present.
  • Also, the old slamdunk champ turned mary jane career ruiner, Isiah Rider makes a return.

Jeff Taylor appears on two cards; base and signed series. Both have set number 199. These will be added to the collection – of course.

All in all a nice product.

Summary of Jeff Taylor’s first year – Rant Sports

Rant Sports had this to say about Jeff Taylor’s first season in the NBA.

…[H]e definitely deserves another look for next season, if not with the Bobcats, then some other team that might put him to better use.

He finished the season at 6.1 points and 1.9 rebounds a game, seeing action in 77 games and started 29 — not bad for a rookie. Although, it does say something that the Bobcats struggled so much they had no choice but to start rookies. He averaged almost 20 minutes a game with a sound 43.1 percent shooting accuracy.

We have to wait and see on this one, what happens. May 21st is the date for the Draft 13. If Bobcats gets a good slot – which they should since they finished last this season – they might move around some people to free up cap space, and to fit the new rookie(s) in.

Bobcats win their 22 game. Beat Cavs 105 to 98.

Final game before summer holiday, and Bobcats went out on top.
Home game, and some good hustle led the team to victory.
Taylor pulled his weight and scored six (6) points, pulled down five (5) rocks of the glass, and was noted for three (3) assists.
Worth rewatching is the alley-oop dunk by Taylor – nice team effort.
Good luck during the summer.
